Hedonismbot is a robot on the animated series Futurama. He is extremely fond of food, wine, opera, vomiting, orgies, and he apologizes for nothing.

One of my favorite characters from Futurama is Hedonismbot. How can you not love a robot so decadent that he is his own couch?
After drawing the basic parts in Adobe Illustrator, I imported the paths into Strata 3D to build him.
3D printing the entire couch at Shapeways was going to be pricey, so I just printed the edges.
I completed the couch with pieces of basswood.
Once the seams were filled with putty, I prepped the surface with filler primer.

Around this time I bought one of these beauties…The FlashForge Finder. The rest of the parts were printed on it.
It's hard to tell with the supplied translucent PLA filament, but the prints are almost as good as what I was getting from Shapeways.
The remaining parts with a coat of filler primer. You can still see some print marks but a quick sanding removes most of them. The cleanup is very easy.
Test fit of all the pieces. After a little more cleanup, it was time to make molds of the parts.
First resin copies out of the molds.
To hold the bowl in place without gluing, I inserted a chunk of broken magnet inside the belly.
Another chunk of magnet was added in side the bowl.
The grapes were glued into the bowl, covering the magnet.
The bowl now sits magically on HB's belly!
I printed a vinyl sticker for his mouth. I also glued on his laurels.
After painting his eyes, Hedonismbot is completed.
How decadent!
